Taste of Ethiopia offers carryout six nights a week and delivery through several third-party services across Metro Detroit. The full menu is available for both — including the combo platters, the doro wat, and the fresh-pressed juices.

Carryout

Call ahead to order: (248) 905-5560. We'll quote you a pickup time (typically 25–40 minutes depending on the order and how busy the kitchen is) and have the food packaged when you arrive. Pay at pickup — cash or card.

Carryout is available every day we're open: Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 9:30 PM, and Friday and Saturday from noon to 9:30 PM. Sunday closed.

Delivery

Delivery is available through:

  • Grubhub — our longest delivery partner
  • Uber Eats
  • DoorDash
  • Seamless

Each platform's fees and delivery radius are different. Grubhub typically has the widest coverage in Metro Detroit. For lower fees, order direct for carryout and pick up yourself.

What Travels Well

Almost everything on our menu travels well. The combo platters are the easiest carryout order — they're packaged with injera lining the bottom of the container (so the bread soaks up the sauces, exactly as in the restaurant) and a separate roll of injera on the side. Reheat covered, low oven.

Two notes:

  • Sambosa is best eaten fresh — order it for in-restaurant rather than carryout if you can.
  • Fresh juices are made to order; we recommend drinking them within an hour of pickup.

Combo Platters for Carryout

The combo platters are arguably our most-ordered carryout item — they're built for sharing, and they hold their texture beautifully. For groups, the Vegetarian Combo plus the Meat Combo (with extra injera) is the standard order. See the combo menu

Catering Larger Orders

For orders of 15 guests or more, route through our catering line rather than carryout — we'll quote a per-guest price, package it for service, and can deliver across Metro Detroit. Private dining & catering

Tipping

Carryout tips go to the kitchen and packagers. Delivery tips on the third-party platforms go to your driver. Both are appreciated; neither is required.
